Baby red chard is a babyleaf from the beet and spinach family and this crop resembles both of those leaves. The oval leaves have delicate thin red stems and red veining. The mild sweet flavour is a little like the flavour of spinach and is slightly earthy with a nutty finish. Grown in Italy as a protected crop both conventionally and organically for twelve months of the year.
